The 2018 ApiNZ Honey Competition is sponsored by Kiwi Labels.
If you’ve entered previous national honey competitions, you’ll notice refinements in the schedule of classes (now classes A – J) plus some amendments to the rules and the entry fee. There are three new classes – Manuka Honey, Honeydew Honey and Product Packaging.
We are endeavouring to raise the calibre of the competition awards to make them more elite and therefore more meaningful commercially.
Our judges are world-class and will use internationally recognised scales of points to judge your honeys. Trophies, medals and certificates are awarded to winners, as well as a number of specially designed stickers indicating the gold, silver or bronze-winning status of the honey. WInners can negotiate with Kiwi Labels to print further batches of these stickers or have them incorporated into their current label designs.
The supreme winner – the highest total scoring exhibitor in classes A – E – will receive their trophy at the Gala Dinner. All winners will have their products displayed at the conference and published on the ApiNZ App.
Please carefully read through the General Rules and Conditions of Entry and the Schedule of Classes to make sure that you meet the entry criteria for the class/es you enter. You may also be interested in the Scale of Points. You’ll need to complete an entry form and supply the required documentation (MPI Harvest Declaration form) and the fee. Entries close 2.00pm Sunday 22nd July 2018.
